I am very passionate about the topic of losing weight, specially because I’m 39 years old right now and I almost have a six pack and nobody can believe my age. But trust me, it hasn’t been easy to get to this point and I find that as the years pass by, I have to stay more vigilant to keep the extra pounds away.

Let me talk now, about what I am seeing my obstetricians are using to better help their patients to lose weight quickly. There are three main trends I am noticing in every office, which provide the highest satisfaction for those who want to lose weight without surgery. They are:
1- HCG Diet: This one is everywhere! Why? because it works! I hear about aggresive reductions of almost 1 pound per day and even more than that. It consist of a combination of a low calory diet (around 500 calories per day), with Injections of the HCG hormone.

What works for me?
- I exercise only twice a week for an hour. That’s not so much, but I have done it religiously for the last 7 years.
- Cut carbs at dinner: This I find it not so difficult, I eat meat, fish, chicken, cheese, ham, etc; with a salad at night. I eat heavy at lunch and small desserts only at breakfast or lunch. Never at night.
- My secret: DO NOT BUY IT: If I buy ice cream I will eat it. It’s really hard to diet when you have the “forbidden” items available. If you don’t have them at home it’s easier to stay compliant. Also, never do groceries shopping being hungry.
Even if you do lose weight quickly after adapting a certain weight loss program, it is not a guarantee that you can maintain your desired weight. Many people who lose weight revert to their old weight if they do nothing to prevent it. Instead of just looking for the quickest way to lose weight, opt to adopt a whole rounded and solid weight loss plan that not only helps you lose weight but also helps you in maintaining your desired weight.
